Albertus Student & Faculty Exhibition at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art

As a student and graduating senior in the Albertus Magnus College Art department, I had the privilege of participating in this year’s faculty and student group exhibition at the the Ely Center of Contemporary Art in New Haven. Students and faculty worked together to make this event possible. I designed the flyer and digital content for the promotion of the event using my graphic design skills in Photoshop. I also participated in curating the show. My work that was featured in the exhibition included four framed three dimensional renderings created in a 3D software I used in class.

Alongside my work were eleven other featured artists, including seniors Reagan Honyotski ’19, Jovanzie Polanco ’19, Shelby De Luna ’19, Alyssa Cruz ’19, Max Schmidt ’19, Emily Cuevas ’19, and Professors Julia Coash, Jerry Nevins, Debbie Hesse, Susan McCaslin, and Will Lustenader. Other types of art showcased at this event included ceramic pottery by Shelby De Luna, a portrait series by Reagan Honyotski, photography by Alyssa Cruz and Professor Jerry Nevins, Emily Cuevas’ collection of paintings, and many more.

This event was a great experience and was a testament to the talent of Albertus students and faculty, but also the kind of experiential learning that Albertus Magnus students receive. The experience allowed me to exhibit my work as an artist for the first time in a professional gallery in the New Haven community. It was a fun and memorable show that I’m so glad I was able to be a part of.
