“I chose Albertus because of the tight knit community. Here, faculty and staff will go out of their way to accomodate your needs and you aren’t just a number. People know you by name and are willing to help you with anything, so you never feel alone.”

Based in New Haven, Leilim Chang-Salazar shares her Albertus story from being involved in various student based organizations to her study abroad experience in Costa Rica. She gives insight on how important it was for her to receive a college education and how she is prepared for a career after attending Albertus.

“College is important to me because I feel like you never stop learning, and also because it is what pushes you forward to be able to get a good career. It’s especially important as a minority to overcome the obstacles that have been put in place and prove that we can be just as great.”

Leilim will receive a Bachelors in Communications and Healthcare Management in Spring 2020.

Leilim is one of our student featured interviews for the 2020 Senior Stories series, which focuses on students’ educational experience leading up to graduation and how they have been impacted by the Albertus Community, on and off campus.
