MAATC Student Loren Rubino ’20 to Host Workshop at The Kennedy Center

Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling (MAATC) student Loren Rubino ’20 will be hosting a workshop at The Kennedy Center’s Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative (MDAC) on Saturday, October 12, 2019. This is a part of a larger series called “Second Saturdays: Connect & Create Community Art Workshops for Adults”. Rubino will be speaking on her work with Floorcloth Stenciling.

As noted on their website, “Loren Rubino is an artist from Westport, Connecticut. She grew up with an artist for a mother and was always exposed to great design. She grew up with uniquely painted walls and hand-painted floors and canvas floorcloths underfoot, and because of this, she looks at a walls and floors as giant canvas’, just waiting to be painted.”

”Loren went to Emerson College and graduated with a BFA in writing, minor performing arts and advertising. She then went to work at Rolling Stone Magazine for a few years in the advertising department, but really wanted to create art and work with kids so she got her teaching degree. For many years, Loren taught art in high schools in Connecticut and Florida. She also taught at The Miami Children’s Museum, The Lincoln Road Art Center in Miami, and is now in her final year of her Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling at Albertus Magnus College. She did her internship at the Kennedy Center and is overjoyed to be back!”
