Farm to Table Dinner at Albertus Magnus College

The Albertus Magnus College community celebrated on the evening of September 12, 2019 for the first ever “Farm to Table” dinner, solely provided by the Albertus Community Garden project. Students, faculty, and staff were all in attendance, as well as some special guests from Albertus’ neighbors from Hamden, Connecticut, St. Ann’s Church. Students enthusiastically helped in harvesting the fresh produce and the garden was able to make a 14 pound donation to St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen.

The total amount of fresh produce donated to St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen is now 215 pounds this year. As of this Fall semester, five classes have been able to utilize the Community Garden on campus as an experiential learning opportunity. The success of this project is greatly impart to the College’s faculty, students, and staff who show continued support and their green thumbs.
