Finding Home in the Art Therapy Program

I’d like to share that the reason I decided to pursue my Master’s degree at Albertus was due to the immense amount of research I did during high school. Since undergrad, I had wanted to be part of the Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling (MAATC) program after speaking with upperclassmen at the time and joining a virtual informational session about the program, which truly intrigued me. As an individual who is family-oriented and grew up in Connecticut, the program felt like the perfect fit, allowing me to stay close to home while pursuing my education.
Within the program, I have also had the opportunity to meet amazing peers and professors. James Bulosan, the Assistant Professor of Art Therapy and Counseling Clinical Coordinator, has been one of the professors I’ve had during my first year of grad school, and I feel fortunate to have come across such a caring and insightful professor who genuinely values building community with both his students and the broader community. I truly appreciate his knowledge, his personal stories about his own practice within the field, and his overall genuine passion for what he does. I feel fortunate to be part of such a great program and am excited for the next two years.
