More Than an Online Degree

More Than an Online Degree

I joined the Albertus Magnus family back in August when I accepted the role of Graduate Assistant Swim Coach while pursuing my Master of Business Administration. Coming straight out of undergrad, I was unsure of what the future held for me. When I learned that Albertus offered the opportunity for me to coach the college’s swim team while earning my master’s degree, I was immediately sold. Since then, Albertus Magnus College has truly become my second home.

I chose their MBA program because of the flexibility it provided, allowing me to complete my coursework entirely online while still working on campus as a Graduate Assistant. The small class sizes were beneficial because I felt like I was more than just a name on an attendance sheet. My professors and classmates took the time to get to know me, and I did the same for them. Even in a fully virtual environment, I was able to connect with classmates and hear their stories, all while forming lifelong connections.

My experience as the Graduate Assistant Swim Coach gave me the opportunity to grow and foster professional relationships in the athletic community. I gained hands-on experience in collegiate coaching and student-athlete development– experiences I will never take for granted. As someone who competed in swimming for fifteen years, including at the NCAA level, I was excited to view the sport from a new perspective. College swimming had such a positive impact on my life, and I was so grateful to be able to pass on that same experience for others.

Albertus Magnus has provided me with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enter the professional world feeling prepared for the next chapter. Although my time as a student is coming to a close in just a month, I will forever be proud to call myself a Falcon.
