Albertus Small Business Saturday: The Story of Joset Rosado ’95 and Corazon Wellness and Coaching

In a world where culturally competent mental health services are more critical than ever, Joset Rosado ’95 is meeting the need with compassion, expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit. Joset is the founder of Corazon Wellness and Coaching, a fully virtual wellness practice that offers therapy, therapeutic coaching, and professional mentorship rooted in cultural awareness and emotional healing.
A Mission Born from Experience and Purpose
Joset’s journey began in 2011 when she moved from New York to South Carolina and witnessed firsthand the limited access Spanish-speaking families had to bilingual therapy. Determined to create change, she launched Corazon Wellness and Coaching in 2012 with a clear mission: to provide culturally competent care to underserved communities.
Since then, her business has expanded in both scope and impact. From Therapeutic Coaching Intensives to immigration evaluations, Joset has created a safe space for individuals and families navigating some of life’s most complex emotional experiences. She also helps fellow clinicians through the licensing process, offering guidance and support to professionals advancing their careers.
In 2020, Joset transitioned her practice to a fully virtual model—allowing her to connect with clients across the country. Today, Corazon Wellness and Coaching stands as a thriving online community focused on healing, growth, and empowerment.
“My work is about helping people break cycles, heal trauma, and reclaim their stories,” Joset shared. “I couldn’t do this without remembering where I came from—and Albertus is a big part of that.”
The Albertus Impact: A Spark That Started It All
Joset’s journey to mental health advocacy began at Albertus Magnus College. She credits her first sociology course with Dr. Patricia Yeaman as the moment everything changed.
“From the moment I walked into her class, I was hooked,” said Joset. “Dr. Yeaman made me feel like I could heal the world. Her belief in me gave me the courage to become the first in my family to graduate college.”
It was in that classroom that Joset discovered her calling—and the fire that continues to fuel her mission today.
“She saw the significance of my journey before I did,” Joset recalled. “Dr. Yeaman helped me understand that I was breaking generational curses. That support shaped everything that came next.”
Advice for Future Falcon Entrepreneurs
When asked what she would share with aspiring Albertus business owners, Joset offered heartfelt guidance:
“Trust yourself and your vision, even when things feel uncertain. Entrepreneurship is full of challenges, but each one helps you grow. Be willing to start small, take risks, and most importantly—be resilient. Your values matter. Stay grounded in them. Surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you—like Dr. Yeaman did for me. And always remember that what you’re doing matters.”
Looking Ahead and Giving Back
While Corazon Wellness and Coaching is not currently hiring, Joset is open to connecting with Albertus students interested in mental health careers or internships. Giving back and helping others step into their potential is an integral part of her mission.
Whether you’re pursuing a clinical path, launching your own business, or exploring your purpose, Joset’s story is a reminder that passion, vision, and a strong foundation can lead to extraordinary impact.
