Veteran’s Day 2020 | Albertus Magnus College

Veteran’s Day 2020 will be like no other we have seen. However odd that may sound, it is not unusual considering the times we are in. How do we say thank you in the midst of a resurging pandemic? We can’t go up and shake their hands. We should respect social distancing. Most of us will be working from home or taking classes virtually on November 11th. Veterans won’t be out and about getting their free coffee and free donuts with the same regularity as previous years. Exposure to others will be and should be minimal, yet we should never forget the significance of honoring those that have served us. So, how do we do it? Even though we have limited exposure to one another, it is easier today more than ever to connect with each other virtually. At any time during the day we are only a few clicks away from reaching someone on the other side of the world.

This Wednesday, November 11th, 2020, honor a loved one, honor a friend, or honor a coworker who is a veteran by posting pictures to your social media accounts. Flood your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat feeds with pictures of these heroes. Let us know why they are special. Let us all know why you love them so much. Despite what we are currently going through and what lies ahead of us, we will get through it, together. No one knows this more than your military veterans. They have fought through adversity, have overcome overwhelming odds, and all have done so with the intention to bring everyone home, to be with you.

This Veterans Day be safe, be smart, and don’t forget to fill your feeds with the love you have for your veterans!
