Luxury, innovation, and natural wellness converge in Halo42 Skincare, a premium beauty brand co-founded by Albertus Magnus College alumnus Tim Quinn ’88 and Mark A. Turnipseed. With a mission rooted in the remarkable healing properties of Copaiba—a natural extract from Brazil—Halo42 redefines what it means to care for your skin while also nurturing the spirit.

A Brand with Purpose and Power

Halo42 was created to meet a rising demand in the skincare market: high-performance products driven by natural ingredients, without compromising on elegance or efficacy. Backed by decades of experience in the beauty industry—including Tim’s time as Vice President of Armani Beauty—Halo42 delivers a carefully curated line that blends science, sustainability, and soul.

More than just another beauty brand, Halo42 is a celebration of resilience, wellness, and authenticity.

“We wanted to create a luxury skincare brand that not only works, but also tells a meaningful story. Every product reflects our belief in self-care as an act of empowerment,” shared Tim and Mark.

The Albertus Foundation: From Classroom to Cosmetics

The road to Halo42 began long before the first bottle was ever designed. As a graduate of Albertus Magnus College, Tim reflects on the invaluable role education played in launching and sustaining this entrepreneurial journey.

“The liberal arts education I received at Albertus gave me the confidence to operate in both creative and analytical spaces,” Tim said. “Studying economics provided the business foundation I needed, while the college’s emphasis on critical thinking taught me how to pivot and adapt—skills that are crucial in the beauty industry.”

Albertus helped build the resourcefulness and resilience needed to not only thrive in a competitive market, but to lead with authenticity and purpose.

Guidance for Future Entrepreneurs

When asked to share advice for aspiring Albertus business owners, Tim offered the wisdom earned from years in both corporate leadership and entrepreneurship:

1. Stay True to Your Vision – “The most successful brands are built on authenticity. When Mark and I founded Halo42, we had a clear vision: to create a luxury skincare line centered around Copaiba and its powerful benefits. No matter what challenges arose, we stayed committed to our mission. Know what makes your business unique and never compromise on that.”
2. Be Willing to Pivot – “Entrepreneurship is rarely a straight path. Markets change, trends shift, and obstacles arise. The ability to adapt is crucial. My career in the beauty industry, from working with Armani Beauty to launching my own brand, taught me that flexibility and creativity are just as important as having a plan.”
3. Build the Right Relationships – “Success doesn’t happen in isolation. Surround yourself with mentors, partners, and a strong support system. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with incredible people throughout my career, and those connections have been invaluable in growing Halo42.”
4. Embrace Continuous Learning – “My time at Albertus Magnus College instilled in me the importance of lifelong learning. Whether it’s understanding business finance, marketing strategies, or industry innovations, staying curious and open to new knowledge will keep your business ahead of the curve.”
5. Take Care of Yourself – “As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to pour everything into your business and neglect yourself. But your well-being directly impacts your success. Skincare and self-care are at the heart of Halo42, and I’ve learned firsthand that balance is essential for long-term sustainability.”

Giving Back and Looking Forward

While Halo42 is not currently hiring, the brand is eager to connect with Albertus students who are interested in internships or mentorship opportunities. They recognize the importance of giving back and investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs and creators. Tim also gives back to Albertus as a member of The President’s Associates.

A Bright Future for Beauty

Halo42 is more than a skincare line—it’s a movement that champions wellness, authenticity, and innovation. As the brand continues to grow, it remains deeply rooted in the values Tim learned at Albertus: community, leadership, and purpose-driven success.

Whether you’re launching a product or a passion project, your vision has power—and with the right foundation, it can change the world.
