Charles Risk ’23, an international student from Canada and dynamic member of the Albertus Men’s Ice Hockey Team, has strong Falcon Pride. He reflects on what it truly means to be a Fearless Falcon:
“I believe that being a Falcon at Albertus Magnus College means being a part of a community.
The community at Albertus is very close, unique, genuine, and safe. This community reminds me of what it’s like to live in a small town– everyone is supportive and knows each other by name. This is true at Albertus, which is special in a college setting. Many schools do not have this luxury.
I believe that being part of a community as tight-knit as Albertus teaches everyone to be genuine to one another.
Some of the qualities of being a Falcon are to have a well-rounded education, respect one another, live through the four Dominican Pillars (Study, Prayer, Community, and Service), and be Fearless. Being a Falcon means making time for those around you, no matter who they are. Everyone on campus from the college’s President to the Professors lives like a Falcon. They know that no matter what title one may have, it is important to take time for others to have a healthy, supportive community.
The qualities of being a Falcon stick with someone well after graduation. I am thankful to be a Falcon for Life.”
