Albertus Student Veteran Association Hosts Coffee Drive

Veterans thrive and grow at Albertus Magnus College. Service is saluted, respected, and nurtured through a convenient Professional and Graduate Studies (PGS) and the traditional undergraduate experience. The College was founded in the Four Dominican Pillars of Study, Prayer, Community, and Service. Over the last three months, the Student Veteran Association put these pillars into practice. Directed by Veteran’s Liaison and Admissions Specialist, Tom Noonan, the Student Veteran Association organization hosted a three-month long Coffee Drive to support in-state veterans without housing. All funds were donated to Homes For the Brave in Bridgeport, CT and also included donated coffee, clothing and kitchen items.

“Our reason for doing this is simply to give back by helping out Connecticut veterans in-need” says Noonan. “Veterans thrive in our Albertus community and fit right in with our mission. This drive was able to provide our heroes with items that would keep them warm during the harsh winter.”

This March, Albertus was once again named a Top 10 Military Friendly School for 2021-2022 by the Military Friendly Schools Survey, a testament to the programs the College has created for the military community. The survey is the longest-running and most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students. The designation is a result of extensive research in which the College met or exceeded benchmarks and access to federal programs for veterans. This is the third time Albertus has achieved Top 10 status and sixth time to make the overall list.
