Students and Alumni in the Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling (MAATC) Program joined the local New Haven community on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the painting of the City’s first official “Black Lives Matter” mural project On Bassett Street, in Newhallville.
Artist Kwadwo Adae, in collaboration with the Department of Arts & Culture, The Arts Council of Greater New Haven, and other departments in the city such as Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking, orchestrated this massive 22’ X 294’ pavement mural. This mural was the first of two in the Artivism Mural Project series with a goal of creating murals throughout each neighborhood of the city
