“College is important to me because I come from a community where there are a lot of talented people who don’t always get these opportunities that I have been blessed to have. It’s important for me to show my family, friends, and people who paved the way for me that what I am doing is a result of their investment in me.”

When asking Kobey why he chose Albertus, he shared that his admissions counselor had given him the confidence he needed. “After I got accepted to Albertus she always checked up on me to see how I was doing, she presented me with potential possibilities and introduced me to the campus family early on. She said to me, “Things might seem unknown at the moment, but we accepted you into this College for a good reason, and we believe that you’re capable of amazing things.” These words had a great impact on him and that is when Kobey knew he made the right decision.

Over the past four years, Kobey has been a member of a number of student based activities and organizations such as; the Honors program, Choir, Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, iHaven Entrepreneurship Program and has worked as a a Residential Assistant.

As a graphic design major Kobey took on various internships such as Vanessa Research in Hamden, Connecticut; the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs at Albertus Magnus College, and is currently working with Health Venture in New Haven as an Associate Intern.  He also participated in a summer internship in Hungary early on in his college career.  It was only afterwards he realized how much of an impact the experience had on him.

“If you obtain an internship, it’s important to work hard and learn everything you possibly can because they will put you in areas that will allow you to achieve more success and foster more opportunities.”
