On September 20, 2019, Albertus Magnus College celebrated 94 years since its opening in 1925. “I think we all have a diamond in our pocket. We don’t know how it got there, but we are guided by it.” Sr. Diane Traffas, O.P., from Ohio Dominican University began Founders’ Day with wise words on being “Dominican: Fully Alive.”

The day was followed with a community picnic, a number of classes exploring Albertus’ dedication to the Four Pillars, and the VERITAS Awards. The VERITAS Award is presented by Albertus to an individual whose dedication and commitment is in true alignment with the mission of the College. This Founders’ Day, the VERITAS Award belongs to Dr. Jeremiah Coffey, recently retired professor of religion and philosophy.
