10 Reasons why you should be #AllInForAlbertus

Today marks the beginning of our second annual 24 hour giving campaign. This fundraising campaign encourages the community to go “All In” by contributing to the Fund for Albertus to celebrate and support Albertus students in their academic, athletic and student life pursuits.

Here are 10 reasons why you should be #AllInForAlbertus

  1. Our Campus and Our History

Rosary HallMany facilities on campus are older than the school itself, Rosary Hall originally was known as Ten Acres, a white Georgian colonial home that was a wedding gift of Harry Darlington to his daughter Rebecca and her husband, Louis Stoddard. The house had 50 rooms and bears a close resemblance to Hoban’s original 1792 design for the White House.

  1. A Catholic College Founded in the Dominican Tradition

“As an Albertus alumna and former employee I can honestly say that I have never met a more approachable community of people than the ones on 700 Prospect Street. As a student, I was drawn in by the location of the college (close to home) and its unintimidating size. What I came to realize was that it quickly became an easy place to belong. I felt the same sense of community and acceptance as a staff member. More importantly, I was able to help students the way I was helped so many years ago. I am happy I was able to play a small role in students’ academic lives. Generally, it doesn’t take much to assist someone but an open ear. Students appreciate that kindness, as I did. Albertus is a place that’s hard to leave and hard to stay away from. So oftentimes students come back. If that’s not a true testament to the school and it’s people, I’m not sure what is. –Erica Lee ’08

  1. Our Faculty

imagesThe Albertus faculty consists of 48 full time faculty members, 90 percent of which hold a Ph.D. or the terminal degree in their field plus a group of part-time faculty who together add an additional 47 full time equivalent positions all with a primary focus on teaching; student/faculty ratio of 14:1. With this kind of ratio you aren’t just a number, you’re an individual.

  1. Our Students
