LIVING OUR DOMINICAN MISSION
Faith in Action

During their spring break, six students traveled to Columbus, Ohio to serve alongside the Dominican Sisters of Peace. By engaging directly with the community, they brought core Dominican values to life.
Rather than a traditional break, students immersed themselves in ministries serving individuals and families in need. One of the experiences was at LifeCare Alliance, where they helped package more than 2,700 meals for homebound residents, turning a single afternoon into thousands of acts of care.
The week offered a lived experience of mission in motion. Students engaged with programs supporting adult education and English language learning, explored environmental stewardship rooted in care for creation, and connected with community-based ministries centered on education, spirituality, and service.
The experience also created space for connection beyond service work, as students met with Dominican sisters and peers from Ohio Dominican University, strengthening their sense of shared purpose within the wider Dominican network.
By the end of the week, students returned to campus with a renewed sense of what service can be—active, immersive, and deeply connected to community—bringing Dominican mission to life well beyond the classroom.
