The Albertus Pride Club aims to provide a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students and their allies while hosting a variety of social activities, advocacy campaigns, and campus-wide events. Albertus Magnus College is dedicated to supporting our LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month and every month.
Members of Pride are reflecting on what the organization means to them:

Shannon Visco ’25 (she/they) is the President of Pride Club. She is majoring in psychology with a concentration in counseling and mental health. They believe Pride Club is so important because “it is a great way to bring people together who have common interests and build a community that can support each other.”

Jeffrey Gangwisch, M.F.A. (they/them) is a faculty advisor to the Albertus Pride Club, an artist, and an Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts at the college. They believe Pride Club is all about “celebrating our students’ authentic selves.”

Bonnie Pepper, Psy.D. (she/her) is a faculty advisor of the Albertus Pride Club and an Associate Professor of Psychology at the college. What does Pride at Albertus mean to her?
“It means visibility for students who are often not seen, and a way to find community in a world that is not always accepting and affirming.”

Kristian Lozada ’25 (he/him) is a cyber security major and a member of the Albertus Pride Club. He is always assisting in organizing Pride-related events on campus.
Kristian feels Pride at Albertus is essential for “having the ability to connect with other communities, support their endeavors, and help them feel at home with themselves.”
The beautiful mural behind our Pride members was designed and painted by Professor Jeffrey Gangwisch’s painting class.
