Mark Catania ‘09, ‘12 M.A came to Albertus after being out of the classroom for nearly 25 years. He received his Associates degree from a community college and then went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Management and Master of Arts in Leadership from Albertus.

As someone who often works long hours, Mark loved that the program was hybrid because it made planning easy and gave him flexibility to plan study time. He knew exactly which days he needed to be on campus and could plan accordingly.
Mark credits Albertus for helping to give him the discipline and drive for success. “I used that drive I had attending the College in prepping for any promotional exam or assignment.” Mark notes that “it is difficult to get promoted in a police department [of this size.]”
This drive led him to several promotions with the Glastonbury Police Department, where he was worked since 1995. After completing his Bachelors in 2009 he was promoted to Sargent and in 2013 he became Lieutenant. In May 2018, he was promoted to Captain and his currently Second in Command responsible for the day to day operations of 59 Officers and 23 civilian employees.
“Through the Leadership program, I built and maintained friendships that I still have today. The days I spent at Albertus will resonate with me forever! I always recommend Albertus to anyone I come in contact with that is looking to further their education.”
