Heather McKeon ’19 started her path at Albertus Magnus College in 2017 to obtain a degree in Healthcare Management. While going back to school, Heather continued to work full-time at Yale New Haven Health as an Oncology Coordinator and Pharmacy Purchaser. During the time she began her program, Heather was promoted to the role of Pharmacy Integrity Analyst.

“I selected Albertus because of the flexibility that was needed to be able to work full time, be with my family, and complete my degree. The classes that I took like Health Care Management, project-based classes, and Health Care Law were really helpful in the position I was in at the time.”
Here at Albertus, we prepare Healthcare Management students for a career in the helping profession, providing groundwork for those who are interested in furthering their education. Students receive theoretical classes along with practical, experiential opportunities; graduating with an internship in their field of interest.
“[The program] helped broaden ideas that I might not have had and implement them within my position. It also helped me mature as a person and in my time management. The degree that I received from Albertus helped me with furthering my career at Yale.”
Heather’s advice for recent alumni who are just starting out in the working world or those advancing their degrees is, “Always keep learning! After 20 years, I went back to school in my late 30’s. It was time for me to further my knowledge and career. It is important to keep growing as a person and Albertus Magnus College helped me achieve both!”
