Monique Brisbane ’20

During Monique’s 20 years of service in healthcare administration, her passion in the behavioral health field intensified while employed at a non-profit organization that served underprivileged individuals and families in Waterbury, Connecticut. Working side-by-side with both behavioral health professionals and families, she regularly encountered complaints from both sides who felt helpless working within the rules and regulations of large healthcare systems.  At that point, Monique recognized the need for smaller intimate practices and decided to take her skills and expertise to the next level. In 2018, Monique established Brisbane Billing & Consulting and has established practices in cities such as East Hartford, New Britain, New Haven, and Thomaston.

Enjoying the satisfaction of helping those in need, Monique decided to earn her master’s degree to learn more about public administration policies and regulations. Upon completion of her Master’s degree, Monique will continue her employment with Yale New Haven Health Systems. Monique will take the knowledge she acquired to continue advocating for mental health services expansion and access for low-income families in Connecticut. In the future, Monique plans on pursuing her education in the field of Theology, in hopes of becoming an advocate and motivational pastor.

“Albertus’ tradition of seeking truth has inspired me to follow the truth of my heart, which is to serve God and the community like our fellow Dominican Sisters have done for us to be here today.”
