Have you heard our new tag song “We Have Faith in Your Future”? It was unveiled at our Professional and Graduate Student Orientation on January 14. The reveal, in fact, was so awesome that it appeared on the front page of the January 15 New Haven Register.
Students and faculty alike were taken by surprise when the Good News Gospel Choir, of Weston, Connecticut, emerged from a back room of the Tagliatela Academic Center and started filing onto the stage. Within seconds, they erupted into a performance when the undercover lead vocalist shocked the room as he began singing from his own seat in the audience. By all accounts, it was amazing, and the video footage is a testament to the enjoyment. To see the uplifting celebration, click on the video below.
As if the production wasn’t awe-inspiring enough, the song that filled the atrium was none other than our new tag song “We Have Faith in Your Future.” It is a tribute to our mantra and to all of the students and faculty in the Albertus community. Moments before the music began, Annette Bosley-Boyce, dean of the Division of Professional and Graduate Studies, explained, “Having faith in your future is so important to us at Albertus, that we feel that we can no longer just say it …”
As the performance ended, hundreds of blue and white balloons fell from the sky. But the surprises didn’t stop there. It’s true that no good deed goes unnoticed, and in pure Dominican Tradition, Albertus Magnus College presented the Good News Gospel Choir with a generous donation that will help to them to spread their gift of song throughout Connecticut.
Bringing this song to life is just one more way for us to express the pride we have in each and every one of you and our commitment to the mentoring and opportunities we will provide during your experience here. Thank you for being the central part of our community.
