Albertus Magnus: Not Your Father’s Technology

IMG_0894

You are all about technology. Between your phone, your laptop, your video game console, your tablet … you are on a constant mission to get your hands on all of the newest digital devices. And while you have heard your father’s story about how he went to college with nothing but an electronic typewriter about twenty times too many, you are still amazed that he was able to get any work done at all without the Internet and spellcheck.

So now that it is time to choose a college, one thing that you are sure of is that you need a school that is as technologically up-to-date as you are. You have also been thinking about the type of college that you are interested in, and realize that a smaller college with a strong community and campus life would be the best choice for you.

Now, what if we told you that you could have both?

You may already know that Albertus Magnus College offers over 50 highly-valued degrees and concentrations on a beautiful suburban campus minutes away from the heart of culturally-rich New Haven. In fact, the College’s academic standing alone is enough to influence your decision to apply. But now, let us give you another “byte” to chew on while thinking about it.

The editors at BestCollegesOnline.org have just released their list of the 50 most technologically advanced small colleges in the U.S., and we are so excited to tell you that Albertus Magnus College has made the ranking.

In order to be eligible for the list, colleges must have 5,000 or fewer undergraduate students and be dedicated to maintaining the school’s technological advancement. The ranking are based on seven categories in the technology field: progressive degrees, advanced on-campus offerings, high-level internships, researching funding, study abroad opportunities/partnerships, connections with community experts, and anything else that “wows” the judges.

The award cites the Tagliatela Academic Center for Science, Art and Technology as housing some of the top laboratory resources available. Inside the Center you’ll find science classrooms and labs, MIS suite, studio for communications majors with production, editing and post-production rooms, and state-of-the-art teaching amphitheater. The number of degrees in science and technology that the College offers are well noted in their respective fields. Best Colleges Online notes, “Keeping in trend with the rising popularity of a career in computer sciences, this college will provide the skills to pass exams and earn the most marketable certifications.”

Even if you are not going into the science or technology fields, Albertus Magnus has the most recent digital resources, including state-of-the-art computer labs, that will provide you with everything you need for academic success at your fingertips.
