The Albertus Honors Program Takes On New York City

One of the many perks of being part of the Honors Program at Albertus Magnus College is taking part in educational, cultural, and exciting excursions.

30 Honors students ventured out to New York City on Saturday, April 9 — it was the largest out-of-state trip for the program! Among the day’s activities: visiting the Museum of Modern Art, the American Museum of Natural History, and the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

A number of students offer reflections on their day in the Big Apple:

Going to New York, courtesy of the Honors Program, was an experience I will never forget. I was a part of the group that went to the American Museum of Natural History– as a history buff I enjoyed it immensely. To get to the American Museum of Natural History we had to take the subway which was something that was new to me and it was an interesting experience. I think that I specifically enjoyed the sea animals part of the Museum because it reminded me of my home country. As always, being down in The Big City was an amazing experience, and I can’t wait for next year!! – Charisma Prince ’24

Had a great time on the trip. It was nice to travel with this group. For myself, I have never seen the city, and sharing it with the Honors program was very cool. – Colt Corpse ’25

Being in New York was so much fun!! I can hardly talk about all that I enjoyed. I loved hanging out with my friends, eating some good food, getting a good walk in, traveling on the train, and seeing some absolutely beautiful paintings!!!! I absolutely loved it!! – Shannon Visco ’25

I had a blast on the trip to NYC! The Museum of Natural History was amazing to see all the diverse animals and artifacts on display! So glad we got to experience this trip and become closer as an Honors Program! – Tyler Ignazzitto. ’25

I loved going to the city with the honors program as it gave me an opportunity to learn while still having fun. My favorite part was that we got to stop at a number of different places, such as the St. Patrick’s cathedral. – Annie Dymarczyk ’24

I enjoyed being able to come closer with my advisors and my friends. It was a very interesting experience and I would love it if we have more of them in the future! Roxhensa Dilolli ’24
