Albertus Alumni Visit Online Sport Management Class

During her winter session course, Dr. Kristen DeCarli ’14 MBA invited three fellow alumni to speak with Albertus students in her Introduction to Sport Management course: Chris Long ’13, Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities at University of California, Los Angeles; Chelsea Sherrod ’16, Weekend Sports Anchor for WKTV in Utica, NY; Dan Kmiechick ’13,  Account Manager for the MLB & NHL Networks and hosts his own internet talk show, The Dan K Show.

“Having alumni speak to students during my winter course added so much value to what I have been teaching the students all along. Not only did they cover how they used internships and networking opportunities during their time at Albertus as a benefit to how they got to where they are today, but also how members of the college such as faculty and staff helped and encouraged them throughout their entire academic journey and after, and even at the present time,” said Dr. DeCarli.

Words of advice, tips, and encouragement were offered for students to be able to see what types of jobs are out there within the sports industry as well as the hard work and dedication it takes to get there.

“Additionally, they shared their own stories and experiences that really resonated with my current students, which I think will greatly benefit these students moving forward in their academic careers.”
