For this year’s Valentine’s Day, hear from some college sweethearts on the story of their relationships that began at Albertus Magnus College.

Laura and James
Although they didn’t start dating until senior year, Laura ’91 and James ’91 met as sophomores on the cross country team at Albertus Magnus College. Their favorite memory together is their first formal event – the 100 days party. Today, James and Laura live in Easton, CT and have two children. They work together in their family business.
Casey and Steve

Casey ’12 and Steve ’13 met in the hallway of Aquinas Hall. Steve would drive to campus every other day to hang out with Casey who lived in Siena Hall.
It was the bond that they formed in the 5 months of dating that prepared them for 2 years of “long-distance”, which eventually led to Steve moving to Boston. They got married in June 2018 in Aruba.
Ari and Sara

Ari ’00 and Sara ’03 met in the fall of 1999. Their favorite memories together include exploring New Haven together and attending winter and spring dances. Sara also loved watching Ari play basketball.
They have been married for 13 years, have two children, and both work in education. After their daughter Aubrey Marie was born, they realized her initials were A.M.C. “We did not plan it that way, but it makes us so happy because it is where we met and fell in love. Albertus is a huge part of our story and will always have a special place in our hearts. Our daughter absolutely loves the special connection she has to Albertus and we do too.”
Mathew and Shelley

Matthew Siperas ’11 and Shelley Mirmina Siperas ’14 were both soccer players during their years at Albertus and lived down the hall from each other. Shelley and Matt were married in December 2017 and had about 20 fellow alumni present. They are now parents and keep busy raising their daughter and spending time together with their baby and dog as a family. “We love the life that Albertus gave to us as well as the friends we made along the way.”
