Associate Professor in the Department of Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Dr. Rosemary Whalen, and biology student Christine Puglisi attended the grand opening of Tangen Biosciences, Inc. located in Branford, Connecticut on August 30, 2019. This is one of the many great opportunities offered at Albertus for students to see the practical applications of studying in the field of STEM in 2019.

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, among others were in attendance for the grand opening.

According to the Tangen website, the company “has developed TangenDX, a field-deployable molecular diagnostic platform used to detect pathogens. The proprietary device’s speed, ease of use and sensitivity promise to improve patient outcomes while reducing costs.”
