A Lifetime of Dominican Leadership

A Lifetime of Dominican Leadership

Sister Anne Kilbride, O.P. concluded her service at Albertus Magnus College on June 30, 2026. This closes a remarkable chapter of leadership shaped by decades of commitment to Dominican life and mission and opens a new one in service to the global Dominican community.

A native of Connecticut with deep ties to New Haven, Sister Anne has always had a close connection to the region and its educational institutions. She holds advanced degrees in  theology from the University of Notre Dame  and in pastoral ministry from Boston College, grounding her work in both scholarship and spiritual practice.

Her relationship with Albertus spans more than two decades, including service as a trustee, Interim President, and Assistant to the President for Dominican Mission. Across each role, she has helped sustain and deepen the mission entrusted by the College’s founding Dominican Sisters, ensuring their legacy continues to shape the College today through the Dominican pillars of Prayer, Study, Community, and Service.

Now, Sister Anne is once again called to national leadership, serving as co-chair of a committee representing fourteen Dominican congregations exploring canonical union, work that echoes her instrumental role in the formation of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in 2009. Her leadership for the Dominican Sisters reflects the enduring values of Albertus: courage, discernment, intellectual rigor, and fidelity to mission, expressed in the pursuit of Veritas.

The Albertus community will miss its daily dose of Sr. Anne’s warmth and humor, but we are pleased that her ministry will continue for the greater good of the Dominican order.
