Albertus Women’s Soccer is #AllInForAlbertus

This week I had a chance to sit down with two of Albertus’s star athletes, on the field and off…seniors Taylor Rotella and Elizabeth (Liz) Nagy. Taylor is a Sports Communication major and Liz is a Communications major.

As you both know, this week is Founders’ Week and we are holding our “All In For Albertus” giving campaign. Why are the two of you “All In For Albertus?”

Taylor: As a transfer student, what really appealed to me was the small class sizes. It’s easier to get to know your professors and develop close relationships with them. Ron Waite is my adviser and he has really been instrumental in my success here.

Liz: The Professors here really care about the success of their students. Academically, Albertus is a great place to be…especially compared to other schools. Here, your Professors always remember you.

Taylor: Having small class sizes allows you to get to know everyone too, that’s the great thing about being part of Albertus is the feeling of community on campus.

You both are members of our Women’s Soccer team here, how has that contributed to your time at Albertus?

Liz: During preseason, Coach always tells the Freshmen that being on the team is like starting school with 25 built in best friends. That is the best description, and most of the time we are all in the same classes because we need to schedule around practice and games.

Taylor: That helps with homework too, most of the time someone on the team has already taken a class that you have taken or you’re in the same class as them so there is always a system of support there.

Liz: As athletes, we are held to high academic standards. Coach is constantly on us about our studies.

Taylor: He gets the attendance report so we’re always getting texts from Coach about what’s going on in school. But it’s just another example of how invested everyone here is in our success.

Finally, with you both being seniors do you have any plans after graduation?

Taylor: I interned at Frontier Communications and they gave me a job offer that is pending after graduation.

Liz: I am currently looking into Graduate School.

More on 25 Built In Best Friends

Liz filmed and edited a music video featuring the entire Women’s Soccer team. Here is a glimpse of what they were talking about when they said being on the team is like having “25 built in best friends.”

Help them make the video go viral and share away!
