Albertus Small Business Saturday: The Story of Katie Hayes ’06 and Bespoke Wellness CT

Alumna and Nonprofit Owner Katie Hayes ’06

For this Albertus Small Business Saturday feature, we are proud to spotlight an alumna who is making a meaningful impact through personalized mental health care. As the founder of Bespoke Wellness CT, she has built a practice centered on one powerful belief: everyone deserves care that is tailored specifically to them.

Based in Westport, Connecticut, Bespoke Wellness CT provides one-on-one psychotherapy designed to meet each individual where they are. Her approach is grounded in the idea that care should never feel like a template or a checklist, but instead reflect the unique needs, experiences, and goals of each person.

A Journey Shaped by Education and Experience

Her path to private practice is rooted in both academic preparation and hands-on experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work from Albertus Magnus College, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sacred Heart University, where she now serves on the Advisory Board.

Before fully stepping into private practice, she spent several years working in special education, supporting individuals from early childhood through emerging adulthood with a wide range of neurological differences. That experience continues to shape her work today, allowing her to approach each client with patience, attentiveness, and a deep understanding of individualized care.

Her time at Albertus played an important role in her journey. Through the relationships she built with classmates and professors, she developed a strong network that continues to support her professionally today. Many of the connections she maintains began right in the classroom and across campus, reinforcing the lasting impact of the Albertus community.

A Foundation Built on Connection and Purpose

At the heart of Bespoke Wellness CT is a commitment to helping individuals gain clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self. Her work reflects a deep dedication to meeting people where they are and supporting them as they navigate life’s challenges with intention and care.

This purpose-driven approach is a direct reflection of the values she cultivated during her time at Albertus, where community, connection, and service are at the core of the student experience.

Words of Wisdom for Future Falcon Entrepreneurs

When asked what advice she would give to aspiring Albertus business owners and entrepreneurs, her message is both empowering and grounded:

“We are not meant to struggle or handle things alone. Ask questions and reach out for help. There are people that want to support you, and the people you are learning and growing with today can become your connections in the future. Trust yourself and your education that you are capable to succeed.”

Giving Back to the Next Generation

While Bespoke Wellness CT is not currently hiring, she is open to connecting with Albertus students about internships and other opportunities to learn more about the field.

Her story is a powerful reminder that success is built not only on knowledge, but on connection, compassion, and the courage to create something meaningful. Through her work, she continues to embody the values of Albertus Magnus College, helping others grow while building a practice rooted in purpose.
