The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Written by Kierran Broatch, Assistant Vice President for Advancement.

Alumna and Trustee, Rosemarie (Siefert) Dios ’80, has teamed up with her daughter and
business partner, Gloria Dios, to help boost the financial proficiency of Albertus students and
faculty. Both are certified financial planners for Dios Castar Wealth Management, a boutique
wealth management practice backed by UBS, and have a passion for financial education. They
are giving back to Rose’s alma mater in the form of a partnership with the Investing in
Education program from Dow Jones.

The partnership provides full access to leading financial websites Barron’s and MarketWatch,
with a goal to spur financial education, learn from investing’s best minds, and foster professional
growth. Thanks to Rose and Gloria’s generosity, anyone with access to an Albertus email
domain now has access to the same real-time content that provides perspective, insights, and
analysis utilized by the most successful business professionals.

The Investing in Education program is not just access to these websites—it includes experiential
learning opportunities, live webinars featuring top financial advisors and journalists, networking,
and more. In addition, students, staff, and faculty have access to exclusive webinars featuring
current topics, access to Q&A sessions with Barron’s/MarketWatch editors and financial
industry experts, as well as a field trip to Dow Jones’ headquarters in New York City.

To help spread word about the new partnership, Rose and Gloria recently visited Albertus on a
beautiful fall morning and served as guest lecturers in Dr. Alan DelFavero’s course FIN 227: The
Stock Market. To a classroom full of aspiring financial professionals, they shared all kinds of
knowledge about the securities of Wall Street including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, as well
as reflection on their career paths leading to where they are today in the field of wealth
management.

After the class ended, Rose and Gloria stayed for lunch with the inaugural cohort of Student
Ambassadors for the Investing in Education program at Albertus: Jacob J.C Berdal ’24, Sam
Anderson ’25, Stephanie Santiago ’25, and  Kehyana Roache  ’25. The day proved to be a
rewarding experience for Rose, Gloria and so many of our students. Our special guests return to
campus on November 6 for another financial education presentation, this time open to all
students, staff and faculty. It is titled Personal Finances 101 and New Haven pizza will be
served—don’t miss out!
