New Year’s Resolution

As 2013 comes to a close and we look out into the wintery start of 2014, we pause to reflect on the year at Albertus as we have for nearly 90 years. To say the least, the scenery has changed throughout a century filled with both triumphs and challenges.

Suddenly, we find ourselves in the age of complication. This is the time of email, text messages, phone messages, social media accounts, and (let’s not forget) good old-fashioned live conversations. We have more ways to connect than ever before, and those connections have changed the way we interact on a very fundamental level.

But that doesn’t mean everything has changed.

One thing that has remained constant, and one thing that will never change, is the faith we have in our students. Everything we do stems from the shared belief that an incredible education opens doors for the lives of our students, no matter what their goals are. Albertus is a jumping-off point; a place you go, that when you come out on the other side you are forever changed. Once we provide our students with the tools they need to begin a new job, or change careers, or enhance their understanding of their world, they simply can’t go back. They’re on the road to success.

Although challenges abound in today’s world, we believe in making it easy to go back to school. Because we recognize the challenges our students have, we have developed more programs than ever to help students succeed: two campuses in New Haven and East Hartford; classes that are in-person and online; and we’re even starting classes on Saturday mornings for those of us who are just too busy during the week. That’s how we show the faith we have in our students—by giving them the ability to succeed on their own terms.
This New Year’s Eve, make a resolution not just for 2014, but for the rest of your life. If you’re ready to change your life for the better, consider coming back to school. We’ll save a place for you at graduation.

Happy New Year from all of us at Albertus Magnus College. We have faith in your future.
